Hey, I’m Meggi.
 

I volunteered at iKhaya for six months.
 

It has always been my dream to go into missions. After finishing school, I really wanted to dedicate a year to God, and God placed South Africa on my heart.
 

Even though I spent the first half of my year at a different organization before moving to iKhaya, I made some of my most beautiful memories there. iKhaya brought the joy back into my year.

You can truly see that they are a family. I got to see what life in a Children’s Home really looks like and how every single child is seen for their own characteristics and personality.    

I will definitely miss the car rides with the children, driving them to and from school, as well as the evenings when I had nothing planned and would join the older kids for dinner and spend time with them. And, of course, I can’t forget all the outings we went on together.

Although, I joined iKhaya later, I’m so happy that I was able to build a good relationship with the kids and some of the mamas.

I was able to grow so much and get to know myself better throughout this year, and I am so grateful to God that He led me to iKhaya.

You will forever have a special place in my heart.
